One of the biggest changes brought by yesterday’s patch is that a couple of maps have been removed from official matchmaking to make way for two new ones. March 2020’s Mapcore Exotic Contest winner Chlorine as well as Jungle are being replaced by Mutiny and Swamp.
Mutiny is a map that’s highly focused on verticality with plenty of the map’s routes going through the center of the map, while Swamp is a much flatter and open map inspired by the outskirts of Lousiana. Both of these new maps are active in Casual, Scrimmage, and Deathmatch, but not the Competitive mode often seen in Counter-Strike pro matches.
The other main changes in this patch involve grenades and Trusted Mode, a mode that prevents the use of third-party software in order to curb cheating. Decoy grenades are no longer able to damage teammates by default, a minor change that helps prevent griefers from team killing. Meanwhile, grenades as a whole have been adjusted so that they do the proper amount of damage when thrown by a player who has disconnected or swapped teams.
Finally, Trusted Mode has added an option that will allow third-party software to launch after the game fully launches. This change has also reset any previous Trusted Mode launch options that might have been changed.
